the hotel staff was friendly. i found the location quite convenient. it was not too far from the main areas i wanted to visit. the location was ideal to get to grassmarket and the castle.
the soundproofing was not good. i could easily hear the guests chatting in the next room. the carpet in the room was dirty. my white socks got stained when i walked on the carpet directly.
